Minor enhancements for the Next® admins and specialists, August 2021

It is no secret that the primary target of our enhancements are the business users, or end users, of Next®. Still, providing ease of use, and increased productivity to those who administrate or configure Next® also make great sense.

For this release we have collected the following minor enhancements targeted the admins and specialists:

Enhancement Issue

Built in web server updated
As a part of our continuous effort to keep Next® secure and up to date, we have updated the Jetty component to Jetty 9.4.43.

Optimized handling of connection pools for external systems
When you integrate Next® with external data sources, the handling of connection pools are now streamlined and optimized. This enhances the performance of Next®, and more significantly reduces the load put on the external systems.

A new filter has been added that allows you to find all documents that does NOT have a specific value.
Omit : (Confidential)  (Strictly confidential)

Next® startup process optimized

In order to pursue our design goal of a maximum start up time of 15 minutes, we have optimized the process by reading only the current revision of configuration elements.

Natural sorting of fields in folders NEXT-3974
When working with fields in Folder templates, the fields are now sorted alphabetically.

Coping better with many import/export options NEXT-4065

Ask a colleague for multiple processes  NEXT-3994
You can now setup an Ask a colleague policy to serve multiple processes, and thereby reduce the administrative burden considerably. In a soon to come release, you will be able to specify that it applies to all processes. This will be the default setup for the basic Ask a colleague.

Allow unknown entry types in Next® Invoices NEXT-3982
A new setting enables Next® Invoices to ignore that entry types of unexpected types already exist. This is absolutely not best practice so please do not use this setting without consulting the Next® Invoices Product Manager in each individual case.

For the techies
