Next®Drive - technology preview

To allow people who work with digital assets (logos, photos, video, sound, and other media files) to organize them safely in Next® Digital Workplace, and still be able to access them easily from within their preferred tools, we deliver this new and optional feature called Next® Drive.

With Next® Drive, selected documents in Next® are automatically made available in a traditional file server structure, looking exactly as before they were managed by Next®. While the everyday user of a graphical element, had little or no issues with locating the right digital assets by browsing a directory structure, everyone else will now find it much easier to locate the right asset by searching in the Next® UI.

With Next® Drive in place, the two methods leads to the same resource - the one and only original stored in the Next® Enterprise archive.

How each digital assets appears in the file/folder structure is configured in Next®.

A single digital asset (document) may even appear in more that one place, to makes things even easier to locate.

Please note

Next®Drive is a read-only access to selected documents in Next®.

We have no intention of exposing all documents in Next® through the file system folder structure. Next® is NOT a file server and will never be.

From a business information management perspective, we are confident that the features and functionalities of an enterprise DMS as Next® by far outperforms the traditional file server or cloud drive.

This support is meant for the selected few, who work extensively with files and folders, and still want these assets to be managed by the enterprise archive.
