Note option to document your entire Next® setup

New feature for those who work with setting up and administering Next® solutions.

Next® is designed to be easy to use and easy to setup. Still, many Next® implementations gain complexity over time. Having different people - both external and internal - contribute to the setup over time, adds to this complexity.

In order to counter this complexity, and help you secure a well documented setup of your business critical infrastructure, we have added a completely new Note feature to Next®.  The Note feature allows you to add documenting comments to every single configuration element in Next®.

Explain what any given Item type is used for, tell what an integration user does, and who is to be part of each user group.

Click Add note at any configuration element where you have additional relevant information.

Once a Note has been added, the icon will be yellow. The same icon will show up in your lists.

Going forward, we will add documentary notes to all standard configuration elements, and encourage you to do the same when you add new or change existing setups.

Having up to date documentation in place is essential to run a secure and efficient setup. This new feature will help you achieve just that.

The business log

Changes to the Notes are not logged in the business log.

Future enhancements

In a soon to come release, we will add Scope and Ownership to all our configuration elements. This will make it even easier for you to determine what setup is custom, and what is standard.
