Smart Filter for the document activity log
The Next® document activity log that tells who has changed, shared, or even viewed a given document, has gained tremendous popularity. Especially with documents you collaborate on, such as Price lists, Customer offers, and Meeting minutes - but also confidential documents such as contracts and payroll information.
If you have many - as in really many - accesses to a document, the log may become hard to get an overview of. That's why we now add the Smart Filter to the Activity log panels.
You can still browse through the log entries just as before. And change the order they are presented in - oldest or newest first.
But, when you click the settings icon, you now also get access to the Smart Filters.
The Smart Filter is smart because it not only allows you to search for persons, actions, and dates. It immediately reveals all the people, actions, and dates found in the log.
Already from the filter, you can tell what persons have been involved. Sometimes, getting this overview makes you wonder. And, to explore what someone has done, just click their name. A truly efficient exploration and audit tool.
The Smart Filter shows you who has accessed the document, how, and when.
The moment you click Benedict Wade, you'll immediately see what he has been up to. And when.
The fact that the Smart Filter is populated with all the users, actions, and periods found in the log for this document, immediately provides you a valuable overview. Selecting and deselecting each item, allows you to dive into details easily.
A clever new feature that enhances the security in your Next® and saves valuable time for those who collaborate extensively.
Future enhancements
In a later release, we will add the Smart Folder functionality to the Task log, and to the logs in Next® Go.
