Minor enhancements for the Next® admins and specialists, December 2020
It is no secret that the primary target of our enhancements are the business users, or end users, of Next®. Still, providing ease of use, and increased productivity to those who admin or configure Next® also make great sense.
For this release we have collected the following minor enhancements targeted the admins and specialists:
The Update Item batch job now support booleans
You are now able to set values for booleans - true and false. Or remove the field completely.
|Performance enhancement for high volume permission changes||NEXT-3586|
We have improved the memory handling in the situations where Next® performs massive amounts of permission changes. This will allow users to perform major restructuring of permissions in less time.
|The Next® Transformation Engine is now setup in Next® Admin||NEXT-3581|
The external Next® Transformation Engine you use to make OCR, Full text extraction, and PDF version can now be setup entirely within the Next® UI.
|The Next® Transformation Engine is more robust||NEXT-3625|
|We have improved the error handling in the Next® Transformation Engine to make it more robust and stable|
|Next® Document Capture adds support foo 12-hour formats||NEXT-3620|
|Now Next® Document Capture also reads dates in the 12-hour format 3pm vs 15:00.|
|Next® Notifications are now persisted||NEXT-3319|
|Notifications, and the Next® Notification Center, are becoming increasingly important to users of Next®. As of now notifications are persisted, and will survive a server restart.|
|Item field definition made easier|
In order to make it easier to work with the fields associated with an Item type, we have moved them to an own tap - Fields
In a future release, we will create a single unified repository of fields available in Next®. By then, you will only have to select what fields you want to associate with any specific Item type.
For the techies
This is pretty much technical in it's nature.
