Minor enhancements for the people using Next®, December 2022

We are happy to flag every new and enhanced feature in Next® with its own release note. Still, some of the enhancements are relevant to only a select few, and those we collect in this list for documentation.

For this release we have collected the following minor enhancements targeted the admins and end user:

Contract expiration date automatically calculated as 12, 24, or 36 months from now
Making it a little easier to manage your contracts in Next® it now becomes possible for Next® to suggest a more intelligent expiration date. Either a fixed period of time - days, weeks, months, or years - depending on the type of contract. Or, automatically calculated based on the duration on the individual contract.

Optimized behavior when you do invoice coding from suggestions
To make it easier to perform coding of supplier invoices we have earlier introduced suggestions based on your previous coding. Now we optimize the process marginally by placing the cursor in the Account field - in case you need to modify the suggested coding.

Support for tax codes varying rates and valid period

If your Finance system is capable of handling that a specific tax or VAT code can have a rate that is changing over time, Next® Invoices is now able to support this. If your Finance system does not support this, you will keep on making individual VAT codes for each rate.

PDF's with form fields shown as read only
When you add PDF's with form fields to your Next®, they will now show as read-only. This helps the user to understand that data entered into the form is not captured unless you use Edit document.

Electronic signature with DocuSign gets more information

To make it easier to verify the parties involved in a signing process, Next® now displays also the email addresses of the recipients. And allows you to search for a specific email address. At the same time we enhance our handling of errors when there is a mismatch between the document you are signing and the template set up in DocuSign.

Card views get easier to use
Card views - where each document is shown with a thumbnail and multiple lines of data - are often much easier to work with than simple lists. Some of the automatically generated card views contained too much data, and hence became complex to read. We now limit the number of fields to 6.

Improved search for invoices
Now you can find invoices using a specific finance account number in Next® Invoices.

Next® Invoices NAV DXC edition gets new cloud-based scanning option
If you run Next® Invoices NAV DXC edition, also known as the "industry solution", you now have the option to switch from on prem Kofax KTM to the much easier and more affordable Kofax AP Essentials in the cloud.
