Enhanced support for groups in Next® LDAP/AD connector
Enhanced feature for those who work with implementing Next® in an enterprise IT landscape.
When you implement Next® in an enterprise, you often use the existing user management infrastructure. Inside a company network, this is typically Active Directory. For this you need the Next® LDAP/AD connector.
Next® LDAP/AD connector allows you to map groups in your AD to user groups in Next®, and now even better. Before this update Next® required each level (leaf) in your AD to be mapped into groups in Next®, for Next® to recognize the members. As the AD is used to manage a myriad of resources, it is not always feasible to map the entire AD structure directly into Next®. That's why we have now enhanced the Next® LDAP/AD connector to recognize also user who are indirectly members of groups in Next®.
Before:
Until now Next® only recognize users in groups specifically mapped in Next®
After:
Now Next® also recognize users in groups indirectly mapped in Next®.
For the techie ones
The configuration of group synchronization in the UI is enhanced with the possibility specify a LDAP query instead of always just look at the member attribute. This allows customers to only specify top level groups in Next, and still have memberships synchronized.
