Automatically start a new process for classified documents

There are a number of more or less automated ways to classify and index documents in Next®.

  • Next® Mailroom provides you with a fully automated AI based setup for classifying and indexing huge volumes of emails and other documents.
  • Next® Mailroom Lite (previously known as Scan to Next®) provides you with rich functionality to easily capture documents from scanners and emails.
  • Next® Enterprise archive - Add document to be indexed gives you very basic abilities to add and index your documents.

Next® Mailroom is our most advanced and complete option to classify and index documents. But not the only one.

Common to all three options is the fact that the end result is a classified and indexed document delivered to one or more so called Destinations.

In an insurance company, the destinations for a classified and indexed claim could be:

  • Archive the document in the Next® Enterprise archive
  • Notify the Policy Administration System of a new claim to the identified customer and policy

Next® can be extended to support any kind of destinations, but out of the box it comes with built-in destinations endpoints:

  • Archive the document in the local Next® Enterprise archive.
  • Archive the document in another Next® Enterprise archive.

This new feature, adds a new optional built-in destination endpoint:

  • Start the classified document on a process

This is especially useful if, your Policy Administration System, does not contain claims processing functionality. You can then build the functionality in Next® Processes, and have the appropriate process initiated automatically.

Also outside insurance, it makes good sense to initiate dedicated case work processes once an incoming document is classified and indexed.

Future enhancements

At a later point in time, we will provide standard processes for basic case work.
