Minor enhancements for the Next® admins and specialists, July 2022
It is no secret that the primary target of our enhancements are the business users, or end users, of Next®. Still, providing ease of use, and increased productivity to those who administrate or configure Next® also makes great sense.
For this release we have collected the following minor enhancements targeted the admins and specialists:
Enhancement | Issue | |
---|---|---|
REST API to Add a document becomes more tolerant | NEXT-4670 | |
When you use the REST API to Add documents to Next®, you may specify the encoding or not. If no encoding is specified, Next® assumes the encoding to be UTF-8. To make the API more resilient or tolerant, the same assumption is used when a blank character is specified for encoding. | ||
REST API used with API keys gets more informative error messages | NEXT-4693 | |
Enterprise authentication is never easy. Without access to the detailed error messages it is unnecessarily hard to identify the cause of a failing authentication. For this reason, all error messages are now propagated to the caller. | ||
Improved performance for systems under heavy Add document workloads | NEXT-4651 | |
When adding millions of documents to a running Next® - typically in the migration phase - the asynchronous processing will now run significantly more efficient. | ||
New Assignment service - Assign from process variable | NEXT-4653 | |
The catalog of assignment services to be used in automatic assignment policies, has been extended with a new service that allows you to assign a task based on any available process variable. | ||
For the techies
This is pretty much technical in it's nature.
