Watch a document

New feature for those who work with important documents in Next®.

In Next® you may store millions of documents, and find them again rapidly using different search methodologies. If you use Next® for important documents, you probably find yourself wondering when a certain document gets updated. Maybe it's an important price list, or the Terms and conditions. And you fear they'll forget to tell you when they update them.

With Watch a document you can relax, and leave it to Next® to notify you.

Find your document, click Watch document and type a short comment to help you remember why you want to be notified.

Watch documents from a list

You may start watching one or more documents in a list.

Right-click to start watching

Stop watching documents from a list

You may stop watching one or more documents in a list.

Another right-click to Stop watching documents

Start watching a document  from the detailed view

You may start or stop to Watch a document by toggling the button.

In the detailed view you have an action to start and stop watching a document.

Whenever someone updates (or deletes) a document you watch, you get a notification in your Notification center.
And if that is not enough, just set the notification to hit you as a task, an email, or a text message.

As easy as that. You'll never miss an important update again.

Manage the stuff you watch

In addition to seeing on each document if you are watching it, you can find all you watch in your profile.

You manage whatever you watch  from your profile.

Notifications from stuff being watched

Each notification tells you what, and why

The business log

When you Start watching (or stops) the business log is updated. So is it when you get a notification.

Business log showing who, when, and what.

Future enhancements

In a coming release of Next®, you will be able to  Watch other objects than documents. E.g. folders or users.
