Minor enhancements for the Next® admins and specialists, May 2022

It is no secret that the primary target of our enhancements are the business users, or end users, of Next®. Still, providing ease of use, and increased productivity to those who administrate or configure Next® also makes great sense.

For this release we have collected the following minor enhancements targeted the admins and specialists:

Enhancement
Issue
Basic configurations moved to Next® UI
NEXT-4532
The final webserver settings are now maintained in the Next® Admin panel. Making it easier to manage on prem and especially in the cloud.

Configuration for Dynamics 2017 moved to Next® UI
NEXT-4486

Now all the setup for running Next® Invoices with Dynamics 2017 is done nice an easily inside Next® Admin.

Generating full-text index and thumbnails for large Excel files optimized
NEXT-4570
Extracting full-text index for and creating thumbnails of huge Excel files has been optimized dramatically, and there by the overall performance of the Next® Transformation Engine has been improved.

Next® startup time reduced following extensive updates
NEXT-4465
Customers who perform extensive updates over several days without adding any new documents, will experience reduced startup time. This is part of our ongoing effort to guarantee consistent startup times.

Next® Transformation Engine SSL certificate may be loaded using Thumbprint
NEXT-4565

As multiple certificates can have the same subject in Windows Certificate Store, you can now use Thumbprint to tell which SSL certificate to load.

Memory consumption optimized for ASPECT4 tables
NEXT-4520
The amount of memory needed to hold even huge datasets from ASPECT4 has been reduced.

File names in list views
NEXT-4526
It is now possible to setup a field in a list view to display the File name(s) associated with a document in Next®. Next® is definitely not a file server, but sometimes we process files from external systems where the original filename contains information that is highly relevant to the user.

Abort task is improved
NEXT-4501
Aborting or terminating complex processes is no simple task. Now the Abort task is also capable of aborting embedded sub processes successfully.
