Improved collaboration using Ask a Colleague

New productivity increasing functionality for those who use Ask a Colleague to involve others in the processing of their tasks in Next®.

When you are handling a task in your task list, and you need to reach out to one or more colleagues for help, you do so by clicking Ask a colleague. Then you select the colleague, and type in exactly what they can do for you.

The moment you do so, the task is put on hold in your task list - to stop it from bothering you unnecessarily - until your colleague has answered.

The task is automatically put on hold in the task list, and most often not shown at all

Typically, you will exclude tasks put on hold from your task list, focusing on the ones which are ready to process.

Open and answered questions

All the details on both open and answered questions are available from the Detailed Task View.

Full overview of all answered (and open) questions

If you are juggling a whole lot of tasks and have dialogs with multiple colleagues - for example in Accounts Payable when you are closing the books for a month or a quarter, and you need all the purchase invoices booked - jumping into the Detailed View for these detail is simply to cumbersome.

That is why we now make the information on the most recent reply available directly in your task list.

Direct access to the most recent answers

If you choose to have the two new columns (who and when) visible in your task list, you can immediately see what has happened. You may even sort the list - to bring the most recent replies to the very top.

Easy access to the reply

A new flyover text associated with the Comments icon, even lets you see the actual reply directly from the Task list.
