Minor enhancements for the Next® admins and specialists, November 2021
It is no secret that the primary target of our enhancements are the business users, or end users, of Next®. Still, providing ease of use, and increased productivity to those who administrate or configure Next® also make great sense.
For this release we have collected the following minor enhancements targeted the admins and specialists:
Enhancement | Issue |
---|---|
Publish folders can rectify faulty folder structures | NEXT-4175 |
If defect folder configuration has given you faulty and duplicate folders, you can now resolve this by correcting setup and using Publish folder | |
Concatenate 3 data fields |
NEXT-4165 |
Search index optimization |
NEXT-3927 |
Permission can be updated on checked-out documents | NEXT-4180 |
In order to support the increased use of check out/check in, we have extended the permission model to allow Checked out documents to have their metadata changed. And to allow their permissions to change accordingly. | |
Enabled/Disabled flag added to Next® configuration elements | NEXT-4186 |
In our journey towards Next® as a Service - and being able to deliver standard configurations based on best practice, we are adding a Enabled/Disabled flag to all configuration elements in Next®. When completed, this will allow us to deliver new configurations to you, and have you decide if and when to enable them. This initial release delivers Enabled/Disabled to many components, and rest will follow soon. | |
For the techies
