Secure handling of pre-invoices, allowing selected staff to alter invoice amount
New feature for those who process invoices in the Construction business, or other industries using framework agreements, pre-invoices, and partial payments.
In the construction industry, it is customary to agree on a project price. Based on the actual delivery, the final price most likely differs. For this purpose you issue and send a pre-invoice.
To cater for this in Next®, we have made it possible for selected accounting employees to change the total amount on the submitted invoice BEFORE it is finally approved and posted, instead of awaiting a credit note.
You allow a Financial Controller to change the invoice total before the invoice is approved and posted.
Altering the invoice amount to be booked and paid, opens up for potential fraud. For this reason you only allow this for selected staff. And rely on your controlling processes to eliminate the risk.
The business log
When you change the invoice total, the business log is updated.
For the techies
The ability to adjust the invoice amount is implemented in the post approval verification task (PostCheckVoucher) in all standard processes that come with Next® Invoices.
All processes in Next® are modelled in BPMN, including the ability to enforce post approval verifications of invoices.
Future enhancements
Not planned.
