Minor enhancements for the Next® admins and specialists, September 2022
It is no secret that the primary target of our enhancements are the business users, or end users, of Next®. Still, providing ease of use, and increased productivity to those who administrate or configure Next® also makes great sense.
For this release we have collected the following minor enhancements targeted the admins and specialists:

In order to secure maximum availability for our cloud services we have migrated to Azure Application Gateway. Instead of having a single point of failure in the proxy service, we now have redundancy in 3 geographies. The move to Azure Application Gateway also opens up for several future enhancements. | ||
Automatic warning about excessive updates of individual documents | NEXT-4783 | |
With the append only nature of Next® you stand to waste a lot of storage capacity if you due to a malfunction in a systems integration update the same document over and over again. To help you avoid such mishaps we have enabled an automatic notification to the built-in user group - Next® System Operations - that will warn you if any documents gets more than 1000 revisions. |

The standard background job Abort tasks and processes gets filters to limit the affected tasks to a give period of time. This background job is a specialist tool, and it has now become more powerful. | ||

Automatic conversion to multi value fields | NEXT-4784 | |
To make the transition from older implementations of Next® easier and more time efficient, we have added the option of automatically converting an single value field to a multi value field when you use Reorganize Documents. | ||
Export of XML in IFS format | ||
Next® IO is now capable of reading XML files in the format provided by KOFAX AP Essentials and deliver the data in XMLs that can be read by the IFS ERP system. | NEXT-4809 | |
Migrate documents from ELO DMS | NEXT-4820 | |
Next® IO is now capable of reading ESW files from the ELO DMS. This makes it easier to migrate from ELO DMS to Next® Digital Workplace. | ||
Automatic Action Policies added to the Next® | NEXT-4778 | |
The first two Automatic Action Policies used to automate out of office in Next® are added to our admin UI. More automatic action policies will follow. | ||
New PaymentStatus extractor added | NEXT-4818 | |
The new extractor lets us add a status column to the list of invoice approvals that highlights invoices where a remaining amount is still retained. Invoices with a retained amount often require special attention. | ||
Due date filters added to Next® invoices | NEXT-4799 | |
New extractor and advanced date range filters make is much easier to follow up on invoices due in the near future. The range filter lets you specify exact dates, but also +3 weeks or + 1 month. |
