Next® for Salesforce eliminates the Salesforce document size limit
Next® for Salesforce allows users of Salesforce to seamlessly add, find, view, and edit documents of any size and complexity from within their Salesforce environment.
Seamless access to all your documents inside Salesforce
With Next® Enterprise Archive for Salesforce, you do not need to store documents in Salesforce itself anymore.
Documents from outside Salesforce - Word, Excel, PDF, and emails - you can add directly to Next® - while you are working in Salesforce. And of course also when you are not.
Any documents you have in Salesforce, you can add to the Next® Enterprise archive either manually or automatically using the Salesforce document capture.
As the Salesforce document capture is developed using standard Salesforce APEX code, it comes with the inherent limit on document size of 6-12 MB. For many admin documents, the size limit is not a big issue. But for product catalogs, CAD/CAM drawings, photos, and videos, a limit of 6-12Mb severely limits the usefulness of the solution.
That is why we, with this release of the Salesforce document capture, have eliminated this size limit. Next® now allows you to upload documents of any size from within Salesforce.
Next® now allows you to upload documents of any size from within Salesforce - product catalogs, technical drawings, photos, videos etc.
This enhancement makes the Next® Enterprise Archive for Salesforce unique in the sense that it unlike other DMS integrations comes without any limitation on document sizes.
For the techies
The Document capture is implemented using standard Salesforce components. It allows you to archive documents asynchronously while retaining the original user identification.
(NOTE: TO BE UPDATED)
The APEX API has been changed so that instead of pushing the document content to Next® using REST, the REST call only provides metadata and a Salesforce document Id. Next® then retrieves the actual document content using Salesforce APIs. This way we overcome the heap size limitations in Salesforce.
To use this, you need to enable the built-in External service - Next® Connector for Salesforce.
