Next® administration enhanced with status, ownership, scope, and online help

To make it easier to manage Next® for admins and specialists, we are adding new and helpful features to the user interface.

Most configuration elements are enhanced with a new status - enabled or disabled.

This allows us to distribute potential critical standard configurations as disabled, and allow you to decide if and when to enable them.  It also makes it possible for you to prepare major new setups in advance, enable when it makes sense.

In the list of configuration elements - such as item type - you can now easily filter on the enabled/disabled status.

At the same time each element also gets an ownership, indicating if this is a Nextway standard configuration, or a customer specific adaption. This allows us to more easily update Next® with new and smarter features.

We also add a configuration element scope. This scope defines what any configuration element is relevant for.  We will use this scope to mark the configuration elements that belongs to a specific Next® product. This will make it easier for you to see what Item types belong to Next® Contracts, and what belong to Next® Contracts.

Even more importantly, you can add your own scopes. That could be different business systems - ASPECT4, Dynamics, or SAP. And the relevant  departments - Sales, Finance, and Warehouse.

In every list you have, you can easily chose what scopes to include or not.

Configuration scope, status, ownership, and online help - all makes it easier to manage  Next®

Online help

Finally we have added a small symbol to many of the configuration elements, giving you on screen access to our online help text.

All in all, this marks a major improvement for admins and specialists working with Next®. An improvement that will save valuable time, and help avoid mishaps.

Future enhancements

The online text will be enhanced throughout the product going forward.
